On July 24, 2019, the Department of Food Technology was visited by Prof. Pilar Hernandez Sánchez from the Department of Food Science, Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), Spain. It is an honor for us to have an international lecturer and a further discussion on collaboration with UCAM, Spain. BINUS Global and ERASMUS Mobility program facilitated this visit.

Prof. Pilar delivered a lecture on “Encapsulation of bioactive compound using cyclodextrin”. She described her expertise to encapsulate the bioactive compound to improve the viability. Besides, she also introduced the program of the Food Science Department in UCAM.

After the lecture, we discussed further research collaborations. Moreover, Prof. Pilar did the campus tour, whereas she visited the chemistry laboratory, microbiology laboratory, food processing laboratory, and other facilities on BINUS Campus Alam Sutera.
