On May 17, 2019, a team from Foodtech succeed to pass as a finalist representing BINUS University in the National Food Technology Competition (NFTC) national scientific poster competition at Widya Mandala Catholic University, Surabaya. The team consists of 2022 binusian students, they are Steven and Steven Sanjaya. They were supervised by Bapak Ata Aditya Wardana, STP, Msi, a lecturer of food technology department. The innovative product demostrated in this competition was fermented soy milk candy. This product was addressed as an alternative snack for people who have lactose intolerance. In addition, it is also to increase the value of soy milk, which have until now been consumed in liquid form only. Seteven and the team was competed with many universities both public and private in Indonesia.

NFTC 2019 is an annual national competition that is conducted in Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya. This event is a place to increase students’ knowledge in food technology related to issues raised in seminar, poster competition, and scientific writing competition.. The competition aims to enable students to pour creativity in the form of ideas and opinions on related the theme through posters and scientific papers.
